Senior Sales Engineer
Location: New York Area , NY , USA

As a Cloudscaling Sales Engineer, you will be the front line technical resource for the Cloudscaling sales organization targeting large enterprise customers. You will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor. The Sales Engineer must have a deep technical understanding of our product and be able to communicate at both a business (executive) and technical (engineer) level. A comprehensive knowledge of the cloud industry, inclusive of specific partners and competitors, is essential to success. You will be tasked with resolving all technical issues to assure complete customer confidence through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to quickly establish strong, trusted relationships with customers and understand this as critical to success.

 

Responsibilities

  • Present and demo our product / solution to prospects at all levels within large enterprise
  • Own all technical deliverables in the pre-sales process (Q&A, ROI, RFI, BOM)
  • Leverage internal resources and functional groups to seek out answers and solutions for customers
  • Communicate and prioritize customer requirements to product management and engineering
  • Partner and align closely with sales on sales objectives

 

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a proven track record as a pre-sales technical leader, specifically in the cloud / infrastructure arena
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally both written and verbal
  • Able to quickly eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Thrives in a dynamic atmosphere of an early stage company where change is inherent
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit, is self-motivated and can work independently
  • Prefers partial compensation as bonus that is tightly aligned to sales objectives
  • Has a sense of urgency that is reflective of customer needs and deadlines
  • Be willing to travel extensively

 

Experience

  • 10+ years in pre-sales engineering calling on enterprise IT
  • 7+ years specifically in cloud, infrastructure, network and datacenter
  • OpenStack experience a plus
